1 cup granulated sugar
1-1 1/2 cups apple juice, water or a combination of both
Directions

Recipe Introduction: Bright, sweet and perfectly tart, this classic cranberry sauce is a holiday essential. It comes together in one saucepan and can be prepared ahead, leaving more time for the rest of your holiday meal.

Step 1: Add the cranberries, sugar and apple juice or water to a saucepan.
Step 2: Place over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 3: Simmer for approximately 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Gently press some of the cranberries against the side of the saucepan, leaving the remaining berries whole for texture.
Step 5: Remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool.
Step 6: Cover and refrigerate until needed.
Step 7: Bring to room temperature before serving.

Serving Suggestion: Serve at room temperature alongside roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and other favourite holiday sides.

Why You'll Love It: This simple cranberry sauce delivers the perfect balance of sweet and tart flavours, with whole berries adding a pleasant texture. Cranberries naturally release pectin as they cook, helping the sauce thicken as it cools.

Fresh St. Market Tip: Make the cranberry sauce a day ahead to simplify your holiday meal preparation. Serve it at room temperature for the best flavour and texture.
